A specially designed airburst that gives a report followed by a shower of Chinese Confetti that floats slowly to the ground. Designed to be suspended in a lighting truss at least 5 metres from the ground.

ProStage II has led in the production of ready to use airbursts and offers an enormous selection. Airbursts come both singly or in a three drop harness.

  

  • ProStage II Airbursts have the added advantage of a three year shelf life as opposed to the Mix Yourself variety which has to be used within a few days.
  • Airbursts are designed to be suspended in a lighting truss that is at least 6 (small airburst) to 8 (large airburst) metres above the ground. They produce a ball shaped flash that is cool before reaching the lower levels or stage floor. There is very little smoke.
  • Available in White, Silver, Silver Glitter, Gold and Gold Glitter - in Small, Medium, Large and Loud Report.
  • Airbursts can be ordered in boxes of 12 singles or in 3 drop harnesses.

A Starburst is a new type of airburst that produces a flash of light and projects stars in all directions to a distance of up to 4.5 metres.

ProStage II Flames have been used on productions such as The Phantom of the Opera and huge tours like The Rolling Stones. The effect is stunning and produces a tiny amount of smoke with no fallout.

  

  • Flame Projectors are available as free standing units, with or without a base, for use in the ProStage II Flame Holder. It is very important to use the correct holder with these devices.
  • Flames can be coloured in red or green, as well as orange. This involves an additive, which can change the duration of the effect and is sometimes accompanied by a distinctive smell.

Also known as Split Mines or Flash Curtains, this effect is in a 6 inches long tube that has a split along its length covered by a thin paper membrane. Flash tubes can be attached to the floor for a spectacular fan shaped effect that reaches approximately 4.5 meters, or flown for a downward curtain effect.

  

  • Available in Silver Crackle, Gold Glitter, Gold, Green, Red, Silver, Silver Glitter and Silver Wave.
  • They must be used with the correct holder.

A Microdet is like a miniature maroon, also in a plastic casing. It is used to simulate bullet hits on walls or ground, particularly in film and TV.

Theatrical Maroons are available in standard plastic, for use in a bomb tank, or in cardboard. Cardboard Maroons (or non-fragmental) are manufactured in a cardboard casing.

ProStage II Tricoloured Mines and Bicoloured Mines propel a massive shower of shimmering coloured stars to a height of 30ft. The effect produced from this mine is up to your choice.

  

  • You can choose any TWO colours from the existing range, i.e. Amber, Blue, Crackle, Flitter, Green, Glitter, Orange, Red, Shimmer, Silver, White, Yellow, Amber & Tail, Green & Tail, Orange & Tail, Red & Tail and Yellow & Tail. In addition, a Red, White and Blue Mine (Tricoloured) is also available.
  • These Multi Coloured Mines are sold under the single product code PP529, so you MUST specify your choice of colours when ordering them. We will stock the Red, White and Blue Mines, but not the Bicoloured Mines, which will take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to make from receiving the order.

  • Stage Mines are made in two sizes: a Small Mine (reaching a height of approximately 20ft or 6m), and a Medium Mine (reaching a height of approximately 50ft or 15m).
  • Please note that a new type of 20ft Mine based on the same design as the 25/30ft Mine Family is now available. The effect produced is a tighter, more even effect.
  • Our new 20ft Mines are also much cheaper; the reason being that it costs less to make the stars.

Le Maitre's new Flame Gel is a flammable gel that can be applied to surfaces. It burns with an even orange flame and a small amount of gel burns for a surprisingly long time. The gel has the consistency of thick custard and looks similar to wallpaper paste which makes it virtually invisible when applied.

  

  • The gel can be used anywhere a small controllable flame is needed. The gel is safe for use inside in moderation with sensible control methods in place.
  • A test in a controlled environment should be carried out prior to use and a risk assessment should be conducted. This gel can be used on stage to simulate a camp fire without the use of flammable liquids or gas.
  • Flame Gel is best extinguished by smothering the container and starving the gel of oxygen. The flame can be extinguished by blowing the flame out, however the greater the burning surface area, the more difficult it becomes. To give an example of the burn rate, 200ml of gel was placed in a round container 75mm in diameter, the gel was lit and it burnt for 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Le Maitre Flame Gel is supplied in buckets of 2.5 liters.

Le Maitre 5-second White Smoke was originally produced for Beauty and the Beast for use as a "Smoking Pants" device.

  

  • It's a 50mm long tube, about 17mm diameter, has a fitted igniter and, when fired, produces a stream of white coloured smoke for around 5 seconds.

The ProStage II range of professional Stage Gerbs are identified by the burn time (first number) x the height in feet (second number).

  

  • For example: a 1/4 x 20 is a gerb of 1/4 of a second duration that reaches a height of 20ft. Heights are also given in metres (the height of a gerb is defined as the height to the top of the main plume, some sparks will go higher).
  • Please note that the red caps are no longer fitted or supplied with our Stage Gerbs. If required, these can be sent out at no additional charge at the time of placing the order. However, should these red caps be needed without the Stage Gerbs, they are available to purchase.
  • Stage Gerbs are packed in boxes of 10, with igniters.
  • All Stage Gerbs are also available in bulk quantities of 250, supplied with igniters (fitted or not).

The silver cascade is a similar effect to the waterfall but with a denser effect. They only need to be positioned 7.5cm apart to create a much fuller effect than our waterfall.

Waterfalls are a speciality of ProStage II. Traditionally there have been 2 types of waterfall. An inverted gerb giving a rushing effect, or the archetypal waterfall with a large choke producing a liquid water effect but with a huge amount of very hot fallout hitting the floor.

A small report is followed by a thick plume of very dense smoke. The Large Coloured Smoke produces more smoke over a longer duration than the Medium. To be used with the standard flash pod.

  

  • The Medium Coloured Smoke is available in white, red, blue, yellow, green, orange and violet.
  • All colours contain a dye, so care must be taken when positioning smokes near scenery, drapes etc.
  • The Large Coloured Smoke is available in all the colours.
