In late July, we enjoyed the visit of Kelly Murray, editor of the TPI magazine who spent three days up front and behind the stage at the 11 edition of the Liberty Parade, trying to catch beyond the atmosphere seen through the eyes of those who have made this event successfully, but to understand the spirit of what Five's means. The experience was extremely interesting from both sides and we enjoyed the positive impression that we left behind as a team, production, creativity, company, craziness?! :-). We wish you a pleasant reading!

Five's makes the cover of Audio Pro International British magazine in September. Following our invitation to attend at the impressive Liberty Parade 2009, the third edition organized consequently by Five’s, the editor Rob Hughes released a cover story about Five’s event, team, work, vision and dreams. Please access the link to have a complete reading of the article on the 27, 28 and 29 pages:
Fives was the Production Company for Faith No More in Romania contributing with lights, sound, trussing and staging at the success of this event. The famous and most-expected songs like “Ashes To Ashes”, “Midlife Crisis”, “Epic”, “Last Cup Of Sorrow”, “Surprise! You're Dead” or “I’m Easy” were listen through our Synco/Martin Audio PA System, and stage was drown in a beautiful red light from our Martin Mac moving heads, which contributed a great extent to the general atmosphere.
The concert that took place on 15th of August 2009, in Polivalenta Hall, was included in the long-expected reunion tour, after the band had been absent form the music scene for eleven years. Faith No More is a very influential experimental/alternative rock band, formed in 1982, their music combining elements of heavy metal, funk, hardcore punk, progressive, soul, hip hop and jazz, among many others.
The location was chosen indoor because the weather conditions are very hard to forecast, and the organizers did not want to risk the concert to be ruined by storm or rain. The event was produced by King Size Production and Bring the Noise.
Liberty Parade is now at 9th edition and from 2006 Five’s is the constant supplier, and with no modesty I would say that we have turned that event into the biggest dance event of every year. Technically, we are very pleased with how the entire production worked and also with the crew. Liberty Parade is the biggest dance event in Romania, an event that manage every year to bring together the greatest number of participants ever seen at a dance event in Romania.
This year's edition took place on the 18th of July and had Planet Funk and Ferry Corsten as headliners, with the local support from the Romanian DJs: Vali Barbulescu, Optick, Raoul Russu, Hermannstadt Colelctive (Mihai Popoviciu and Jay Bliss), DJ Allen, DJ Andy, Christian Green, LiviuHodor, Cristi Stanciu, Dan Ene, Vika Jigulina, Lucian Barbulescu, Emil Lassaria, NTFO, Sllash & Doppe, Paul Damixie, Carlos & Jasc and Treitl Hammond.
Same as the years before, the event started with the traditional Liberty Parade Caravan, followed by the main event at Liberty Parade Arena. For this year's edition, Five's had built an impressive scene, using layher and Eurotruss FD 34 and ST 50. The light equipments (to mention only Martin Mac 500 and Martin Mac 600) were controlled through 3 sound consoles: Avolites Saphire, Martin Pro Case I and Whole Hog iPC. As for the sound, we used Synco/W8LC because is the most reliable system that can perform from rock music to techno-electronic music in very good condition even at high dB levels. The video screens situated beside and on stage (Barco X-Lite 10 and Barco I-Lite 6) insured the best visibility for everyone.
The concerts held on the occasion of celebrating "Deva City's Days" and 740 years of documentary attestation of Hunedoara's county seat have been a real success whereas all participants are concerned.
The cellebration took place within the 29th-31st of May, in Real hypermarket's parking. The three-day event, which consisted of about 22 hours of live shows and over 180 stage performances, required an audio-video tehnique and a well set stange system, especially taking real-time adequate decisions from Fives' team.
All these have contributed to the event's success. The complexity of organising and producing this kind of event has represented a challenge for Five's, which has bean completed with both professionalism and imagination. The stage was set up in no time - the same evening the team arrived at the place of the event. Five's used Synco WLC and W8LM, the sound being controlled with Soundcraft MH3 console and the lights with Detonator Atomic and Whole Hog iPC. Moving heads were used (Martin Mac 2000 Performance, Martin Mac 500 and 600), but also conventional lights (Par 64). Not least, the Le Maitre pyro effects (20x20 Stage Gerb) produced a great impact on those presents.
Having reached the 3rd edition, "J&B Start a Party" took place in an unconventional location: the roof-top of Moldova Mall, in Iasi, on Saturday, April 4th, 2009, reuniting more than 1000 guests.
J&B Start a Party first appeared in Romania in 2007, when the party took place in the former Senate’s headquarter, followed, in 2008, by an opened-air party, at Caro Hotel, on the bank of TeiLake. Five’s stood beside J&B parties even from their first edition, in 2007, and granted a significant contribution to their success and to their unique atmosphere.
The artists invited to this year’s party were: Tomasan, Igor Miarjuan and DW. Their live mix could be listened to online, at www.ibizasonica.com, and is now available for audition on www.startapartyhere.ro.
“J&B Start a Party is the avant-garde of Romanian events, a different party for a special brand. We have not informed anyone before the event what was about to happen, and that had raised questions among the inhabitants of Iasi. Thus, we have insured that the participants truly wished to party in J&B’s spirit, discovering a night where anything is possible. The atmosphere was extraordinary, and we might say that we have set the standards of a successful party in Iasi. Stay close to Start a Party, we have already begun to work at our next event”, J&B’s representatives said.
At this years party, the light show offered by Five’s lasers spread in the whole city. This added to the impressive video projection on the opposite building, Moldova Hotel. And finally, since J&B symbol is a disco ball, we have built a 2 meter-size disco ball for the DJ console. We have also abused on the lighting fixtures, using 150 LED light fixtures, knowing that the Earth can be saved also with the led technology. The extraordinary W8LM's from Martin Audio have made the difference between just sound and truly magnificent audition. As for the video part we have used 56 square meters of Curtain LED Screen, 24 sqm of BARCO's S-Lite10 Led screens, 3 of 6000 ANSI DLP projectors.
The City Hall of Bucharest has organized a weekend of music and joy for the anniversary of the City, on 2008 September 20th-22nd. For that impressing event Five’s had a huge role in supplying the setup equipment for 3 different locations. The event was a great success based on the over 3 million people who have visited the area of the shows. Five’s has supplied the complete system (roof, sound, lights and video) on the three areas located in Historical City (Circle Roof), Unirii Blvd and Constitutiei Square. All three roofs had Eurotruss label on them – one of the worldwide leading manufacturer of the aluminium staging system and aluminium roofs, and where equipped with Synco/Martin Audio sound systems and Martin Professional lights. The sound systems were driven by the Synco/MA Amps and controlled by Soundcraft MH3, Soundcraft Serie Five, Yamaha M7CL, Crest Audio XR20 and the lights were programmed by Martin Procase, Whole Hog III iPC and Martin Light Jockey controlers. That event was a real speed test for the Five’s Crew who had to make the entire setup in less then 12 hours, with the great help from the Escape Group riggers, because the auto traffic was not closed until the night before the show. The Electrical crew also had a great deal of job in supplying the power for all the bars and presentations places on the Constitutiei Square and on the entire Unirii Blvd, using approx 5km of power cables.
